A very sought-after car, being one of just eleven built to this attractive design, in this case finished in a handsome shade of dark green, with original beige leather, piped green, complimented by beige carpets and green sheepskin over rugs, and fitted from new with a Triplex, green-tinted roof panel, with a clip on cover which matches the headlining. The car has been with one family for the last twenty three years, is sound, straight, correct and very appealing, running and driving very nicely. The history is particularly impressive, runs to three large box files, and includes a large quantity of invoices showing maintenance and repairs, a handbook with correct continental supplement, various correspondence, a run of old MoT certificates going back to 1985, and more besides. In summary, a rare, desirable and handsome car, which we feel has a bright future, and by comparison with other continentals, such as the R Type & S1 fastbacks, is a positive bargain! Just fitted with five new radial tyres.

Snippets: Expansible Honing Tool Head

In 1959 Stephen James Chaffey filed a patent for an “expansible honing tool head” for polishing the inside wall of tubes & cones.  Although Stephen Chaffey bought the car in April 1963 by October 1964 the chassis cards show that it had been sold & registered in the name of J. Elliot at his business Calder Gravel Ltd of Brighouse in Yorkshire, it would seem that Mr Elliott kept the car until the early 1970s when it was acquired by D. Wheeler Esq of Warren Street in London.  Warren Street was named after Anne Warren (wife of Charles Fitzroy 1st Baron Southampton), Anne’s father was Admiral Sir P. Warren founder of Greenwich Village in New York.
